You Capture - Doors

Down south, there is a church on every corner. While churches are not so numerous up here, the few you can find are beautiful.

One of the first things my oldest daughter noticed when we moved up here were all of the cemeteries. She wanted to know why there are so many more up here than in the south. I had to just tell her the truth: The northerners kinda had a head start on dying! Personally, I find them all to be so beautiful...and to imagine the amazing stories each family represented by each headstone has to tell!

This is one of a few cemeteries near us:

I love the architecture of the chapel/office on the cemetery site:

I don't think I'll ever grow bored with the architecture up here in New England.

Of course, one thing that doesn't overly impress me, architecturally speaking anyway, is this particular part of our rental home:

Yes, that's a door up there. Off the second floor. With no stairway. Don't ask. Because I really don't know.

Lovely doors...except for the baffling one on the end. Did your rental home used to be a duplex? Strange indeed!

ha ha ha - I guess that is what they call the "Emergency Exit".

I agree, the architecture there is wonderful. I can only imagine the history all of those building have seen.

Gorgeous! I love looking at churches AND their doors! We were in a city yesterday that had some really pretty churches. I didn't bring my camera. =/

Yours just needs a slide. Now that would be fun...

Love those- When I saw that topic was Doors for this week- I really had in mind the photos you posted. That was what I wanted to capture. Unfortunately we don't have anything remotely like that at all around here. :) Those are just gorgeous.

Stunning photos! You found the best doors I've seen so far. ;) And my bet is that the builder had plans for where that door would lead...and ran out of money. Or interest. That said, I like the emergency exit theory the best!

We are very alike, I LOVE cemeteries for exactly the same reason. I find it amazing to think of all the stories of the people resting there.

These are some extraordinary photos, but my favorite will have to be the one with the amazingly blue sky.

Wow. You had so many great doors to take pictures of. Church doors are awesome. The one on your rental house, however, is just funny. :)
