Dear Super Housewife Fairy,

Because I know you must be out there somewhere. I really need some help. TravelDaddy is, well, traveling. I have to make supper tonight. I think I have a handle on that. My other problem is that I kinda made a HUGE batch of bread dough. I think, no, I know I forgot the most important ingredient. Yes, yeast. That is why my blob of dough that is supposed to be rising right now is just sitting there, pathetic and blobby.

I cannot bring myself to throw out all that bread dough. Especially with my new life of Frugality and all. What to do with it. What to do. Unleavened bread? Crackers? What does one make with un-yeasty bread dough?

Signed,
Air-Headed and Frazzled

Wish I could help there...actually to be honest, I wish I knew how to make bread. That sounds so good, and healthy. :-)

Maybe you can let the kids make something???

LOL! Sorry. Forgetting the yeast sounds like something I'd do....
Then I'd just cook it anyway and see how it tastes.

Bake it, make some chili, and serve it with the chili. Or a thick stew. Or some chowder. Or cream of potato soup. Freeze what you don't eat and save it for a colder day when you soup or stew. That's what we do with extra bread...although for the life of me I cannot remember ever having forgotten the yeast!

Not sure what you did with it but if you baked it, you could always make it into bread crumbs. I did that last week when I forgot the sugar and my bread came out rather heavy. :) I now have a 3 bags of bread crumbs just waiting to used in my freezer. think of the frugality of not having to purchase bread crumbs1 :)
