Good to Wow: Yellow Edition, Edited

I didn't do a whole lot to my pictures this week. Mainly just RAW adjustments to exposure and white balance. I shot all of my photos in Hershey on Auto mode because I was afraid I would miss something fiddling with settings. My Auto WB tends to be a little on the cool side, and the exposure a little low. So I had to warm up each photo as well as increase the exposure. That said, here we go:

BEFORE:
SOOC - Audrey

AFTER:
Audrey

After RAW exposure and white balance adjustment, cropped and then brightened her eyes.

BEFORE:
SOOC - hats

AFTER:
Hats

Basic RAW adjustments, slight crop to make it symmetrical, and high filter pass set to overlay blend mode.

BEFORE:
I had two shots of the kids at the candy machine:
SOOC diptych

I like the shot on the right best because, even though it has the pesky shadow cast by the store shelf (had I noticed it, I could have changed my position!), a crop can get rid of it easier than on the photo on the left. The problem with the right photo, however, is that it is sans candy pail. So I took a shot I had of just the empty candy bucket, selected the bucket, and copied it into the better picture.

AFTER:
Practicing - Filling the Bucket

Then the crop and basic RAW adjustments.

BEFORE:
SOOC - Audrey 1

AFTER:
Audrey 1

First I cropped it. Then RAW adjustment followed by high pass filter set to soft light blending mode at 30% opacity. I thought about trying to clone out legs in background, but I really don't have the time, plus those legs belong to my other daughter as opposed to a stranger, so I'm perfectly fine with them remaining there.

BEFORE:
SOOC - Audrey & Matthew

AFTER:
Audrey & Matthew

Just did a RAW adjustment and slight crop.

Kathleen -- you my dear are rocking your edits! I love how you took the extra step to put the candy bucket where it belonged - and then how you were ok with the "extra" legs hanging around!

You really brightened and livened these up -- awesome!
