Friends, Expos, and Friends (Oh My!)

I'm having a hard time keeping up with Blog World these days. We have a lot going on in our lives right now, details I can't share at the moment but will in time.

That aside, I had a wonderful week last week! On Monday I got to spend a few hours with a friend from boarding school who now resides in Australia. She and her family were doing the grand tour of America. My in-laws were nice enough to let me invite myself and my 4 kids along with her, her husband, and her 4 kids over to their house where the 8 children ran around in wild circles while we chatted.

Then of course Thursday marked the arrival of my friend who certainly could never have figured out the Homeschool Expo on her own. So glad I was there to help! Believe it or not, I employed my Great Curriculum Self-Control and bought nothing on Day 1. Not. a. thing. Ok, so on Day 2, I bought one thing. One of the best things about the Expo? I got to meet Linda!! Of course I forgot to get a picture.

Anyway, my friend and I really enjoyed the rest of our weekend together. She is also a friend from boarding school. Though it has been 20 years since I left Africa, I was able to briefly visit her 11 years ago. This weekend, it was like only 11 days had passed. I love friendships like that!

I am glad you did not give in to buying oodles at the expo..not sure my self control would have been so good.
It's so wonderful when we get to visit with people we don't see often! I hope you had a great time!

I'm not sure if I mentioned this but I'm really jealous that you and Linda got to meet. ;o)

Sounds like a Very Good week!

So now I must officially be the only blogger who has yet to meet a blogging buddy live and in person...happy for you, though!

I've missed you lately, but have kept up with your posts. Have you settled on the secret ingredients for Mark yet? If not, I'm voting for coconut, lime, sweetened condensed milk, and ginger root :)
